Youth Voter & Civic Engagement Ambassadors
Our Mission
Food security and civic power go hand in hand. Our Youth Voter & Civic Engagement Ambassadors program, a Freedom of Faith Food Bank initiative, trains young Houstonians to register voters, share nonpartisan election information, and advocate for the resources their neighborhoods need. Through the Freedom Together Coalition, the program expands across partner schools, churches, and nonprofits citywide.
What Ambassadors Do
Ambassadors lead voter registration drives at pantry distributions and community events, host town halls on food and housing justice, help neighbors find their polling places, and bring youth voices to local decision-makers. All activities are strictly nonpartisan: we never endorse or oppose any candidate or party.
Leadership That Lasts
Each cohort completes leadership workshops on civic education, public speaking, community organizing, and nutrition justice. Ambassadors earn volunteer service hours, build real-world skills, and graduate ready to lead in their schools, congregations, and neighborhoods.
Join, Refer, or Sponsor an Ambassador
Young people ages 16 to 24 can apply for the next cohort by emailing freedomoffaithfoodbank@gmail.com. Schools, churches, and nonprofits can partner with us through the Freedom Together Coalition, and businesses can underwrite an ambassador for $1,500.
